Are you content with how God made you? Or do you grumble and complain about how He molded your features and abilities?
Many of us struggle with body issues wishing God made us differently, didn’t give us physical limitations, and would stop the aging process. Unfortunately, none of that will happen.
Looking in the mirror, I see gray hair, bags under my eyes, and crinkly thighs. Why does God let us age?
Even when you’re old, I’ll take care of you. Even when your hair turns gray, I’ll support you. I made you and will continue to care for you. ~ Isaiah46:4 GWTEven
Made for His Purposes
I struggle and find I’m dissatisfied with the physical limitations God gave me. I wish my activities didn’t cause pain and I had more stamina. As a result, I get angry, frustrated, and disgruntled.
Then I remembered that God made me for His purposes and designed me as He intended.
My only answer is to rest physically first. Then I rest my mind in God’s promises, and finally, my emotions catch up to where I trust God again. I confess my discontent, disappointment, and my discomfort.
Then humbly ask the Almighty, My Lord, Guide, and Comforter, “What’s next? Then, as I silence my thoughts and body, I wait for His answer.
No Mistakes
God created you exactly as He wants you. You are not a mistake. God will work in you and through you to accomplish what He has planned.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in my mother’s womb. You saw me before I was born. ~Psalm 139:15-16
