Do you get stuck saying always and never? Like it always goes wrong, or bad things always come in threes? Or maybe you say it’s never going to work out, or they’re never coming to the Lord.
Life is hard, though we pray, we hope, we dream. Yet the situation doesn’t change. Or it compounds or morphs so slowly that we get tired of waiting.
Several years ago, we did a complete remodel on our house while living in a part of it—Not fun, but still doable. Then I had brain surgery for a traumatic brain injury and two neck surgeries in the next five years. But God saw me through all of it.
Whatever your challenge, God usually takes longer than we expected to resolve the issue, and sometimes He says, “My grace is sufficient for you today.”
Always and Never
We don’t think of God’s promises when we say always and never in the negative.
Always and never only belong to two beings, Satan and God. Satan always lies and never has our best in mind. (John 8:44, John 10:10)
God never lies and always has our best interests at heart. (Numbers 23:19, Jeremiah 29:11)
Six Promises God Always Keep
Hanging on to these promises when we face troubles, we’ll find hope and comfort.
- God is Always with you (Deuteronomy 31:8)
- God Always keeps His promises (2 Corinthians 1:20)
- God Always hears our every Cry (Psalm 34:17)
- God’s promises are Always true (Numbers 23:19)
- God is Always working in us to make us more like Jesus, even if we don’t see (Philippians 2:13)
- God’s grace is sufficient for today (2 Corinthians 12:9)
You Are Not Alone
When life is hard, hang on, my sweet sister in the Lord. God has not left you. It can feel like a struggle to not focus on our issues and pain. But the problems recede in the distance when we turn to the Lord and His unfailing love.
