We get too busy and say “yes” to too many things. What are you too busy doing? What reason pops out of your mouth most frequently when asked why you volunteer for so many different things?

BEFORE YOU SAY NO

  • Stop saying “Yes.”
  • Make a  list of your activities.

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Does this add to my life?
  2. Does someone else have the skill set to do this task?

8 WAYS TO SAY NO

  1. Sounds Wonderful- I wish I had the time.
  2. I’d love to, but my plate is full. Check with next year.
  3. I can’t do that right now, but maybe (Name) might like to do it.
  4. I won’t be able to help you with that, but I will pray/think about it and see if I come up with someone who might help you.
  5. Let me check my calendar and get back to you tomorrow (Week or 3 Days.)
  6. You are so good at what you do, but this is not one of my strengths. I could help you with (Fill in the blank.)
  7. I’ve wanted to do this, but I am disappointed I can’t this year. Please get in touch with me next year.
