Our dates were very different depending on where we lived.

We floated on a lake in Texas. In Germany we climbed a hill to see a castle and walked in the woods. One of our favorites while we lived in Hawaii, was to get dessert as takeout and ete it on the beac

For many of our dates, we stayed close to home. We did free or inexpensive activities which didn’t require a babysitter because the kids were asleep or otherwise occupied.

Here are some of our favorite Free or Almost Free Dates.

  • Enjoy soda and candy bars in the backyard.
  • Get donuts and coffee.
  • Eat dinner in a different room or outside.
  • Visit a new part of town or a new park.
  • Go out to lunch while the kids are at school.
  • Read and discuss a book on marriage or sex.
  • Walk in the woods or around the neighborhood.

Brainstorm Date Ideas

Brainstorm as many romantic ideas as you can in fifteen minutes. Generate ideas that are serious and silly; practical and ridiculous; expensive and cheap; meaningful and sexy. Generate ideas for gifts and gestures, and places to go, and things to do.
