Stinkin thinkin and God thoughts can’t inhabit the same space. One or the other fills our minds. Whatever direction we allow our thoughts to take multiplies and fills our whole brain until we decide to intervene.

Both thought patterns lead us on a path, and we get to choose. We decide to take the upward spiral and look for what God is doing in our circumstances. Or we choose stinkin think and end up grumpy and unhappy.

Whatever You Think About Grows in Your Life

We’ll see more good things in our lives when we focus on them. It may seem odd, but what we focus on is what we see. If we look for beauty, God’s loving-kindness, and what’s going right, the negatives will fade in the distance as we hand them over to God’s care.

We don’t have to stay stuck! We can change our stikin thikin by changing our thoughts. Women who find the good in their circumstances shine like a beacon, drawing others to them and leading the way. Women of influence learn to be positive thinkers.

Like many of you, I experienced significant trials and setbacks. Each time I worked to turn my negative thoughts into positive ones. My favorite verses to help conquer my bad attitude and unpleasant thoughts are from Philippians 4:4 -8. Like Paul, I am learning to be content.

You Can’t Live a Positive Life with a Negative Mind

“Be Anxious for Nothing”

What would happen if the worst possible outcome occurred? Would God still be there? Would He still be in control? Is God able to take care of you now?

Yes, yes, and yes!

“In Everything Give Thanks”

Find something to thank God for in your present circumstances. Learning to be content is choosing an attitude of gratitude.

“Think on These Things”

What is true? What is beautiful? What is worthy of praise? What is excellent? What does God promise you?

Take Control

What you pay attention to is what you see. Stop and enjoy the beauty. Rehearse the positives. Take control of your thoughts and train yourself to make positive thinking about your situations a habit.

Get rid of your stikin thinkin and become a woman of influence!
